Description and Objectives
Musical pedagogy aims to establish the free expression of the individual, considering the trinity of word-music-movement, focusing on auditory-perceptual development and the creative and interpretative expression of the individual.
From an academic perspective, the master's degree responds to a new line of action in music education, not only attending to research in music education, but also to innovation in terms of new teaching systems from the disciplines and new trends in pedagogy, psychopedagogy, and psychology can and should be implemented in music education both in Conservatories (Elementa-Medium and Superior), music schools and in General Education (Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education and high school).
General Objectives:
- Provide professionals in music with a teaching vocation and the opportunity for advanced training in research and innovation in musical pedagogy.
- Emphasize the importance of research and advanced innovation processes in the field of musical pedagogy for various teaching areas.
- Create a space for advanced research and innovation in musical pedagogy as a determinant to enhance master's degree studies for access to a doctorate.
- Address the issues in the field of musical pedagogy through advanced innovation and research, serving as a social projection in various educational contexts.
Student profiles
Students who wish to gain access to this Master's program must hold a degree considered relevant to the proposed degree, i.e., they should be university graduates in:
PRIORITY LEVEL 1. University Graduates
1.A- Graduates in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education with a specialization in Music Education, with at least medium-level musical studies (formal or informal**).
1.B- Graduates in History and Sciences of Music with at least medium-level musical studies (formal or informal**).
PRIORITY LEVEL 2. Conservatory Graduates
2.A- Graduates and Degree holders from a Conservatory in any of the specialties.
PRIORITY LEVEL 3. University Graduates with a medium level of musical studies
3.A- Any university graduate with at least medium-level musical studies (formal or informal).

Complementary courses
Students of the Conservatory and of the Degree in History and Sciences of Music who have not taken subjects related to educational sciences must take the following complementary courses:
MODULE 1 CF.- SUBJECT 1 CF - EDUCATION (6ECTS).
- Subject 1 CF - 33696 General Didactics (6 ECTS)
MODULE 2 CF.- SUBJECT 1 CF - PSYCHOLOGY (6ECTS)
- Subject 2 CF - 33697 Child Learning and Development I (6 ECTS)
Both subjects correspond to the first year of the Primary Education Teacher Degree.
