Descripción

Recent literature points to robotic platforms as suitable elements for addressing the use of educational technologies at an early age. This theoretical framework suggests that given its properties as tangible elements, the use of robots could help to reduce the gap between learning by manipulating objects from early childhood and teaching programming as it is currently addressed in high school. Taking this into account, in the year 2018 we created RoboTito, a robot whose main characteristic is that of being programmable through the configuration of the environment through the disposition of tangible objects. The robot interacts with objects using distance and color sensors, which, through pre-programmed rules, define their actions. RoboTito was used in groups of children in initial education in controlled interventions and proved to be motivating and viable as a pedagogical tool.
