Deadline: April 2, 2020 at midnight.

A new Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (MSCA-ITN) funded by the European Union H2020 programme named HIDDeN ("Hunting Invisibles: Dark sectors, Dark matter and Neutrinos") has recently been approved.

Ten 3-year PhD positions of HIDDeN ITN are open for application, with starting dates this coming fall.

The candidates will work on particle theory and phenomenology and/or astroparticle physics including e.g. neutrino, dark matter, axions, dark energy, or BSM physics, and will be hired by one of the European beneficiaries of the network at Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS, France), Heidelberg Univ. (UHEI, Germany), Göttingen Univ. (UGOE, Germany), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT, Germany), Instituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN, Italy), Univ. Autónoma de Madrid (UAM, Spain), Univ. of Barcelona (UB, Spain), Univ. of Valencia/IFIC (UVEG, Spain), Univ. of Durham (UDUR, UK) and Univ. Southampton (SOTON, UK).

The deadline for applications is close: March 20, 2020. All applications must be submitted exclusively via the network portal http://hiddeneu.eu/jobs

All nodes, e.g. beneficiaries and partner organisations, will contribute to the training and the research effort will focus on collaborations throughout the network. The positions include at least a long secondment in another European beneficiary, plus shorter stays in our partner organisations: at least at one major world laboratory and at one of our private sector partners. The students are expected to participate actively in the yearly international workshop and school organized by the network, and they will also be involved in outreach activities.

The candidates must demonstrate a high level of accomplishment and excellence in her/his previous academic experience.

By EU requirements, eligible candidates may be of any nationality and at the date of recruitment (means the first day of the employment of the researcher for the purposes of the action) should comply with the following rules:

1) All researchers recruited in an ITN must be Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) at the date of recruitment by the beneficiary, be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers and have not been awarded a doctoral degree.

2) Mobility Rule: researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date. Compulsory national service, short stays such as holidays, and time spent as part of a procedure for obtaining refugee status under the Geneva Convention (1951 Refugee Convention and the 1967 Protocol) are not taken into account.

The ITN HIDDeN complies with an equal opportunity and gender balance policy. For more information please see http://www.hiddeneu.eu
