Programme formative activities

Attendance to workshops, formation courses, and meetings

Attendance of the students to workshops, specialized courses, and meeting will be encouraged, when related to the research area of the Thesis. These activities could be local, national, or international.

As an example, the students form the Programme used to attend the meetings of Madrid pharmacologists (FARMADRID) or the Spanish Group of Neurotransmission and Neuroprotection (GENN), which are free and organized by the Instituto de Investigación Teófilo Hernando. These small meetings used to be the first time for students’ presentations, training them for other more general meetings. Moreover, attendance to the meetings of Spanish Society of Pharmacology (Sociedad Española de Farmacología, SEF), European Society of Pharmacology (EPHAR) or the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) are also encouraged.

Furthermore, attendance to other national or international meetings will be positively evaluated when related to the specific topic of the student’ Thesis, although not directly linked to Pharmacology. The programme also will support the attendance to specialized courses by Spanish or foreign institutions, like EPHAR, European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) o European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS), among others.

Activity accreditation

The students should request form the organizers a certificate for the assistance and, if appropriate, for the presentation (poster, oral). Such documents must be enclosed in the Document for Doctorate Activities (Documento de Actividades del Doctorando)
