PhD Training Activities

Attendance to workshops, formation courses, and meetings

Attendance of doctoral candidates to workshops, specialized courses, and meetings related to the research area of the doctoral thesis will be encouraged, These activities can take place in a local, national, or international environment..

For instance, doctoral candidates from the PhD Programme in Pharmacology and Physiology usually attend the Pharmacologists from Madrid meeting (FARMADRID) or those by the Spanish Group of Neurotransmission and Neuroprotection (GENN), with free registration and organized by Instituto de Investigación Teófilo Hernando. These small-scale meetings usually provide PhD candidates with a first poster and oral presentation, thus providing training for other larger-scale meetings. Moreover, attendance to the meetings by the Spanish Society of Pharmacology (Sociedad Española de Farmacología, SEF), the European Society of Pharmacology (EPHAR) or the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) is also encouraged..

Besides pharmacology-centered meetings, attendance to other national or international congresses will be positively evaluated when related to the specific topic of the doctoral thesis. The programme also supports the attendance to specialized courses by Spanish or foreign institutions, like EPHAR, European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) o European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS), among others.

Activity accreditation

The students should request form the organizers a participation certificate including, if applicable, the type of presentation (poster, oral). Such documents must be attached to the Training Activities Document (Documento de Actividades del Doctorando) to be uplodaded in SIGMA.
