Participatory Integrated Assessment of Energy Systems to promote Energy Acces and Efficiency (PARTICIPIA)

Project description:
The project called “Participatory Integrated Assessment of Energy Systems to promote Energy Access and Efficiency” (PARTICIPIA) consists in establishing new master programs in Southern African Countries (Botswana, Namibia and South Africa) for participatory integrated assessment of renewable energy systems.

The project coordinated by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona will involve various universities from Southern Africa (Stellenbosch University, University of Botswana and Polytechnic of Namibia) as well as from Europe (University of Bergen, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Universidad Carlos 3 de Madrid, Universitat Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona). Several international organizations will also take part in the project (FAO and NEPAD).

The project started in September 2013, and will last 3 years.
