Admission Requirements

Who can apply?

Official non-Spanish college/university student (undergraduate or graduate)

Graduates from a non-Spanish university          

High School graduates from a non-Spanish speaking country

Spanish Language Requirements

All applicants must be non-native speakers of Spanish and provide proof of their Spanish language ability. Minimum required Spanish proficiency level is B1, recommended proficiency level B2

Accepted certificates:

ACLES Certificates from Spanish Universities: CertAcles B1

UNICERT Certificate: Level 1

CLES Certificate: CLES 1

Escuela Oficial De Idiomas (R.D. 1629/2006): INTERMEDIO 2

Escuela Oficial De Idiomas (R.D. 967/1988): 3º CURSO CICLO ELEMENTAL

Business Language Testing Service (BULATS) (Req. pass 4 major competencies): 40-59

Instituto Cervantes – Diplomas De Español Como Lengua Extranjera (DELE): Nivel B1

The European Language Certificates (TELC): TELC B1

CELU (Certificado de Español: Lengua y Uso) del Consorcio ELSE (Español Segunda Lengua o Extranjera): intermediate

CELA (Certificados de Español como Lengua Adicional): B1

 

Please note if you do not have a certificate that can attest your level of Spanish, or you are unsure about your current level, the UAM will send you a level test. 

At the UAM, we offer an Intensive Spanish Language Course that is divided into different modules and highly recommended to all students who are not past the intermediate level of Spanish.  It is the best way to prepare for the DiLe.
