Semicuam offers an FPI PhD fellowship of the Spanish Ministry of Research &  Innovation associated to the research project:
“Quantum Optics in Semiconductor Nanostructures”

The project focus on new ways to deal with quantum information by manipulating  electronic excitations and photons in semiconductor nanostructures, including:
 
• Bose-Einstein condensates of polaritons, created optically or electrically & manipulated by, for instance, surface acoustic waves.
•
•Creation & characterization of single photons & quantum-entangled photon pairs & its analysis by quantum tomography.
 
•Exploratory study of new material systems, like carbon based nanostructures, as alternative candidates for scalable systems in quantum information.
 

The thesis will be either in experiment or theory depending of the selected candidate.

They must probe an excellent training, especially in Solid Sate Physics & Quantum Mechanics. Experience in a spectroscopy lab, English knowledge and computational skills will be also considered.
