9th International Conference on Harmonic Analysis and Partial Differential Equations

El Escorial, Madrid (Spain) June 11-15, 2012

Welcome to the webpage of the 9th International Conference on Harmonic Analysis and Partial Differential Equations. The "El Escorial Meetings", as they are known, began in 1979 and were followed by others in 1983, 1987, 1992 (this one in Miraflores de la Sierra), 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008. The ninth will take place on June 11-15, 2012.

These conferences are a meeting point for mathematicians working in harmonic analysis and its interplay with partial differential equations. They have attracted mathematicians from all over the world and their proceedings have recorded periodically the basic developments in the above mentioned areas.

The format of these conferences is somehow special, for it consists of both short courses and general lectures. Four outstanding mathematicians are invited to present, in 3 or 4 one-hour sessions, a rich and current piece of mathematics assuming minimal background from the audience and reaching the frontiers of present day research. These lectures are intended primarily for young graduate and post-graduate students or for mathematicians in other areas who want to become acquainted with the field. In addition to this, the conference presents 10 to 15 one-hour lectures of a more specialized nature, given by invited speakers. Finally, some sessions of short talks are scheduled to accommodate those participants wishing to present their own recent results.

As in previous conferences, there will be a small number of grants, mainly intended for graduate students, to cover the registration fee and/or accommodation.

We hope that you will find in these pages all the information that you need as a potential participant, and we look forward to seeing you in El Escorial.
