I would like to introduce you once in a while to new exciting technologies on the web. Today we will present the new DIGITAL Voice Plugin. It's a V-mail plugin for the browser Netscape Navigator. Instead of sending e-mail you simply record a little message and send it attached to an e-mail. You don't even have to bother with attaching the wav-file, the program does it for you. If you use a computer with speakers and microphone, Windows 95/NT, and Netscape 3.0 or Netscape Gold you can send short voice mail to anybody using similar equipment! Unfortunately not every computer platform and not every browser does support this new plugin. In addition, the file size can get quite big, while you keep on recording your message. Therefore, try to send only small messages.

Please note: This plugin is not supported by Microsoft Explorer (you may crash if you try to send the voice mail). It is also not yet supported by Netscape Communicator, Mac/UNIX/other OS versions.

You will still encounter inconveniences using this new and exciting tool. The future will incorporate such v-mail programs into your browser and e-mail program. You won't have to change any preferences or do something else. It will just play automatically. Be patient and wait a few more months. It's out there and it will come!

This will bring you to the page with the file "voice1_11" to download. Download the file to your computer and open this file. The installation wizard will tell you what to do. After a couple of minutes you're set and ready to go!

If you use the e-mail program Eudora or Eudora Light, the message should play without problems. If you use Netscape Mail, you will have to make minor changes in the preferences (easy). These changes will return to normal when you close Netscape.
