Instructions for Authors

We accept submissions by e mail, or on disk, or on paper by postal services

Electronic publication of original high-quality medical articles on the Internet is a relative new way to distribute knowledge and research results. We would like to encourage everybody to join this innovative method of reaching thousands of readers around the world. Our goal is to publish high-quality and if possible, interactive and multimedia content on the web. We will help authors with the formatting of their articles should they need any support.

Manuscripts by diskettes or e-mail

Submission on diskettes or by e-mail is encouraged. Disk should be DOS formatted. Files should be in Word, WordPerfect, ASCII, plain text, or HTML format. Please follow the instructions below for format of manuscript. All figures must be e-mailed or placed in a diskette in a GIF or JPEG format and must not exceed 100K of space. Please e-mail your manuscripts to:

Olivier Wenker, M.D.

Submitting paper manuscripts by mail

All paper manuscripts should be submitted in triplicate to the Editor:

Olivier Wenker, M.D.

Editor-in-Chief, Internet Journal of Anesthesiology

23 Rippling Creek Drive

Sugar Land, Texas 77479

United States of America

A cover letter should be sent with every manuscript to identify the person (with address and telephone number) responsible for correspondence concerning the article. This letter should make it clear that the final manuscript has been seen and approved by all authors. The Editors of the Internet Journal of Anesthesiology expect all authors to disclose any commercial associations they have that might give rise to a conflict of interest in connection with the submitted article.

When submitting a manuscript by mail, please ensure the top copy is typed on one side of the paper only. Additional copies should be photocopied on both sides of the sheets to keep the mailing weight down. Also, rejected paper manuscripts will not be returned to the authors (except for original illustrations).

Rapid publications. Original paper manuscripts or electronic files containing unusual information of interest will be considered for a rapid publication. They must be identified as such in a covering letter which clearly explains why the manuscript should be considered for a rapid publication. Papers are examined by the Editor in-chief and sent to outside reviewers for rapid review. They will only be considered if they conform to the journal's instructions for authors, represent definitive studies, and require only minor revisions. If accepted, such reports will be published in the next available update to Internet Journal of Anesthesiology.
