SUMMARY: On the basis of fowl bone finds from 43 sites in Central Europe, using data on the age structure, the sex ratio and the intensity of sexual dimorphism as evidenced in the skeleton of prehistoric fowl populations, the author inves tigates the development of the use of domestic chicken.
