"ADVANCED INSTRUMENTAL TECHNIQUES IN THE INDUSTRY AND THE INVESTIGATION. THEORY AND PRACTICE"

Introduction
to the Course
The course that I present is tried to show a global vision, theoretical as as much practical, of the instrumental techniques more outposts than at the moment the Industry and the Investigation exist for the chemical and physical analysis of the materials with interest in. The labor reality demands so much to have the theoretical knowledge as practitioners. Therefore the course is designed in two blocks:
(1) - Theoretical introduction to the foundations of the different existing instrumental techniques (50% of the time),
(2) - Practices in situ in one of the described techniques with the intention of which the students acquire a first contact with the reality of the laboratory (50% of the time).
The final mission
is to try that the students acquire a perspective, theoretical as as much
practical, that it allows you to be able to approach and to plan the problems of
analyzes that can arise to you in your future professional life in the
technological sector.
The content of the classes markedly has a descriptive and divulging and applied
character to the industrial and scientific needs of nowadays. It will be avoided,
as far as possible, the development of complex formulas, being the developed
level equivalent to a first cycle of University Faculties. One will occur to a
modern and outpost vision of the Industrial Applications of the Instrumental
Techniques as well as its Importance within the development of Present Science.
The Practical part of the course will consist of a stay in a Laboratory under
the position of a Tutor of Specialized Professors in each one of the Technical
Instruments.

Introduction to the Course
The course that I present here is tried to
show an “introduction” of the basic statistical concepts which are necessary and
applicable to the evaluation of the error or uncertainty, from two points of
view: (a) Qualitative; insisting on understanding What means? , as How they are
evaluated? and as How they are interpreted? and (b) Quantitative; considering
its values by means of the mathematical tools that the statistical theory makes
our available. In order that the theoretical concepts can arrive to be
assimilated, problems type near the reality of the laboratory will consider (Volume,
Mass, Concentration, Dilution) to develop in group, where the assistants must
realize, by themselves, the complete process of calculation of the standard
uncertainty combined (u) and expanded (U), using for it as much the theoretical
method as the empiricist.
