Campaign of surveys on teaching activity (30 November 2009 to 20 January 2010)

19/11/2009

As in previous years, between 30 November 2009 and 20 January 2010 students will be asked their opinion on teaching activity during the first semester of the 2009-2010 academic year. Following this, in February, teachers will be asked to fill in their own teaching reports.

Why carry out the surveys?

  • To improve teaching standards.
  • To promote policies aimed at strengthening quality practices.
  • To monitor curricula.
  • To report on the perceived satisfaction with teaching.

How are candidates polled?

In the case of student surveys, students present in the classroom on the assigned day are polled by a pollster. In the case of the teachers, a web-based form is posted.

When will my subject/group be polled?

A polling week has been assigned for each centre. You can consult the dates on the GEEI website (Studies and Institutional Evaluation Office). In addition to this, lists will be posted with information on the day, time and classroom for each group/subject/teacher to be polled.

How can I see the results?

  • Individual results for teachers are posted on the UAM intranet (1st semester, July; 2nd semester, October).
  • Overall reports for departmental boards, curricula monitoring commissions, centre committees and the Governing Board of the University (annual reports from December of the following year).
  • Annual overall public report, in the GEEI website: http://www.uam.es/calidad/gabinete/areapoyo/apoyoencuesta.html (from December of the following year).
