2nd Universia Vice-Chancellors Meeting: for a Latin American space of socially responsible knowledge
The debate on the university, its challenges and future is open to the whole university community.
‘Ideas for Guadalajara’ addresses 32 challenges faced by universities
The space brings together ideas, opinions and possible solutions to these challenges.
Those associated with universities -alumni and ex-alumni, teachers, researchers, administrative and service staff- will have the opportunity to participate with their opinions, via the space ‘Ideas for Guadalajara’, in the debate raised on account of the 2nd Universia International Vice-Chancellors Meeting, which will be held in Guadalajara (Mexico) on 31 May and 1 June 2010.
For the time being, only possible solutions and ideas to address the 32 challenges currently faced by universities can be contributed. New challenges will gradually be included. The objective is for the greatest possible number of persons to have the opportunity to contribute to improving university education through their opinions.
The contributions made to 'Ideas for Guadalajara' will be analysed at the 2nd Universia International Vice-Chancellor's Meeting which, under the slogan "For a Latin American space of socially responsible knowledge", will bring together representatives from more than one thousand universities in May to debate on the university of the future.
This meeting, organised by Universia, the largest Spanish and Portuguese-speaking university network, will be sponsored by Banco Santander, through its Santander Universities Global Division.
The 1,169 universities associated to Universia, present in 23 countries, are invited to participate, as well as academic institutions from the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia or China, which are not part of this university network but whose projects are supported by Santander Universities.
