The ''Analamala'' team of the UAM Theatre Classroom has won the main award at the Tenth Festival d´Hiver, a European Student Theatre Festival organised by the student association of the School of Higher Business Studies of Paris (HEC Paris).
"Analamala" took part in the festival with "Cantar del amor y la muerte (''Singing of love and death''), a creation of the team together with Jorge Amich Castro, co-ordinator of the activities of the UAM Theatre Classroom (ATUAM).
Teresa Medina Jiménez, a fourth-year student of Translation and Interpreting in the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, won the best actress award. Mairea Seguí Buenaventura, who is currently doing a postgraduate course in the Faculty of Psychology of the UAM, was a finalist in the same category.
ATUAM is an activity within the framework of the Deputy Vice-chancellor's Office for University Extension and Dissemination of Science of the UAM. Its purpose is to be a space for artistic expression of the University community and its stage communication with its surroundings, an option for active free time, a creative leisure alternative for people who work and study at our University. Every year the ATUAM opens with new workshops and companies, and from those experiences emerge teams like "Analamala".
