2nd Conference and Spring School on Properties, Design and Applications of Upconversion Nanomaterials

On behalf of the Organizing Committee and the European Upconversion network (COST CM1403), we are delighted to invite you to UPCON18, the 2^nd Conference and Spring School on Properties, Design and Applications of Upconversion Nanomaterials, which will be held from the 2^nd to the 6^th of April 2018 in Valencia, Spain. The conference venue will be located in the centre of the historical part of the city of Valencia, in the impressive Botanical Gardens in Valencia. The training school will consist of one full day of practical sections to be held in the chemistry labs (Faculty of Chemistry) and the Central Service of Support to the Experimental Research (SCSIE) at the Burjassot Campus of the University of Valencia; interesting lectures given by experts from different research fields will be hosted at The Botanical Gardens of Valencia the following day and a half.

Since ancient times, Valencia has been renowned for its radiant light, seafaring spirit and market gardening. Mediterranean by nature, here you can see relics of Roman, Visigoth and Islamic cultures, as well as notable examples of many styles of art and culture. The impressive emblematic buildings that were recently constructed in the riverbed are well worth visiting.

Valencia International Airport (distance from Valencia: 8 km, easily reached by underground) has international connections with many Spanish and European cities and it is also easily accessible by fast trains from national and international destinations.
