ETN PURINESDX Research Project: PhD position 14

Design and synthesis of new antagonists of the P2X7 receptor with improved brain penetration Project ESR14 is aimed at designing, synthesizing and characterizing the potential neuroprotective properties of novel P2X7R ligands through a medicinal chemistry strategy. The candidate will perform organic synthesis of about 50 compounds and biological screening experiments to test their affinity for P2X7Rs and their potential neuroprotective properties.

Eligible candidates must have a background in Chemistry or Pharmacy degrees or skills in both Organic Synthesis and Medicinal Chemistry. As an eligibility criteria, candidates should not have stayed in Spain for more than 12 months in the latest 3 years.
