Irene Martín Cortés es Profesora Contratada Doctora. Es Doctora por la UAM y Doctora-miembro del CEACS - Instituto Juan March. Coordina en la UAM el Proyecto  H2020 REPAST - Revisiting the Past, Anticipating the Future - Strengthening European Integration through the Analysis of Conflict Discourses (2018-2021) y el Máster Erasmus Mundus EUROSUD – South European Studies. Ha realizado estancias de Investigación en el Hellenic Observatory de la London School of Economics (2018), el Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies de la Universidad de Princeton (2007), la Universidad de Montreal (2012), y la Universidad de Atenas (2008).

Docencia

Es responsable de la asignatura Elecciones y comportamiento política en los Grados de Ciencia Política y Administración Pública y el Doble Grado Derecho y Ciencia Política, y del Seminario de Investigación de los Másteres Democracia y Gobierno y EUROSUD. En el pasado ha sido responsible de asignaturas como Actores Políticos y Acción Colectiva (Grado Filosofía, Política y Economía), Sistemas Electorales, Instituciones Políticas en Europa, Introducción a la Ciencia Política, Métodos de Investigación en Ciencias Sociales, Contemporary topics in Political Science, Diseño de Investigación en Ciencias Sociales (MA). También es profesora del BOSP Stanford Program in Madrid. Ha dirigido 3 tesis doctorales que han obtenido la máxima calificación “cum laude por unanimidad” (Javier Lorente, Magda Fytili, Pablo Muñoz).

Cargos de gestión

Ha sido Delegada del Rector de Internacionalización (2014-2017), Vicedecana de Relaciones Internacionales (2010-2014), Coordinadora del Máster en Democracia y Gobierno (2007-2009; 2018-2019); del Doble Grado UAM-Sciences Po Bordeaux (2014-2018).

 

Short Bio

Irene Martín Cortés is Lecturer in Political Science. She obtained her PhD at UAM and the CEACS - Juan March Institute. She is responsible at UAM for the H2020 research project REPAST - Revisiting the Past, Anticipating the Future - Strengthening European Integration through the Analysis of Conflict Discourses (2018-2021). She coordinates at UAM the Erasmus Mundus MA EUROSUD – South European Studies. She has been visiting professor at the Hellenic Observatory of the London School of Economics (2018), Princeton University’s Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies (2007), the University of Montreal (2012), and the University of Athens (2008).

Teaching

She teaches Elections and political behavior at the BA in Political Science and Public Administration and BA in Law and Political Science, and coordinates the MA Research Seminar. In previous academic years she has taught Political Actors and Collective Action (BA Philosophy, Politics and Economics), Electoral Systems, Political Institutions in Europe, Introduction to Political Science, Research Methods in Political Science, Contemporary topics in Political Science, Research Design in Social Sciences (MA). She teaches at the BOSP Stanford Program in Madrid. She has supervised 3 PhD thesis that have obtained the highest honors (Javier Lorente, Magda Fytili, Pablo Muñoz).

Administrative positions

She has been Rector’s Delegate for Internationalization (2014-2017); Vicedean of International Relations (2010-2014); Coordinator of the MA in Democracy and Government (2007-2009; 2018-2019); and Coordinator of the Double Degree UAM-Sciences Po Bordeaux (2014-2018).
