Official Master¿s Degrees

Official Master’s Degrees offered by the Law Faculty are governed by Royal Decree 1393/2007 and fully adapted to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Their academic structure is based on ECTS credits, allowing a more accurate assessment of the student’s work and the adaptation of teaching methodology to the principles of European convergence, basing learning on the acquisition of skills. As a general rule, to get a place on a doctoral programme in any Spanish university, it is necessary to have completed an official 60 credit Master’s degree or, at least, to have obtained more than 60 ECTS credits in a longer official Master’s degree.


The Official Master’s Degrees available in the Law Faculty are:


All official UAM Master’s Degrees include a period of professional internship, which is compulsory in the Master’s Degree in International Relations and African Studies and the Master’s Degree for Admission to the Legal Profession. The UAM has signed a wide range of agreements with many institutions and prestigious law firms, which ensure that students can undertake internships in the places best suited to their profiles and training needs.
