Support for research

What support services are there for research and knowledge transfer at the UAM?

The UAM provides its researchers the support and vehicles necessary to develop their research projects and the associated knowledge transfer activity: the Office for Transfer of Research Results (Oficina de Transferencia de Resultados [OTRI]), the Foundation of the UAM (Fundación de la UAM [FUAM]), the UAM Publication Service and the Research Culture Service.

UAM Research Service
This service is responsible for managing calls for proposals and grant applications for research projects of national and regional scope and within the UAM, as well as the administration of fellowship programmes in the same areas.

Office for Transfer of Research Results (OTRI)
The OTRI is the institutional channel that supports researchers at the UAM and at the firms connected to our institution. The goal of the OTRI is to contribute to strengthening the University’s relationships with its environment (companies and institutions).

Foundation of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid
The fundamental mission of the FUAM is to serve as a bridge between the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and society, making the University’s (that is, the university collective’s) research, teaching and collaborative capacities available to society and helping to increase these capacities by offering service of the highest quality.

Publication Service of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid
The function of the UAM’s Publication Service is the publication and dissemination of the studies, research, and works developed by professors and researchers. Although the priority of the Publication Service is to publish and disseminate the knowledge and research generated by the UAM, it may also publish and disseminate other work when the Publication Commission of the UAM deems this work to be of interest and relevance.

Research Culture
The Unit for Research Culture of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Unidad de Cultura Científica de la UAM [UCCUAM]) is a service created in 2006 and affiliated with the Vice-Rectorate for University Extension and Scientific Publication. Its goal is to foster and support activities that contribute to the social communication of scientific knowledge produced at the UAM and the centres associated with it.
