Javier Revuelta es doctor en psicología por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid y magister en estadística por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Su actividad docente e investigadora se centra en estadística y psicometría, habiendo desarrollado diversos modelos en el marco de la teoría de respuesta al ítem. También ha publicado investigaciones teóricas y aplicadas sobre tests adaptativos informatizados.

Ha coordinado diferentes proyectos de investigación de financiación estatal, publicando numerosos artículos en revistas nacionales e internacionales, así como diversas monografías y manuales en su área de interés. Es Editor asociado de la sección de Métodos Psicométricos de la revista Psicológica.
