The Universidad Autónoma de Madrid has 56 active student associations, the bylaws of which are adapted to current legislation. In the deputy Vice-chancellor's office for Students and ongoing training  there is a list of Student associations showing all the details of these associations.

Student associations serve students as means of representation and participation in the collegiate bodies of the university and in other aspects of university life.

The main purpose of Information Technologies, dependent on the deputy vice-chancellor's office for Innovation, Transference and Technology, is to provide technical support to the entire university community in various aspects of IT and communications (microcomputing, IT classrooms, management applications, etc.).
