The Argon delay-puzzle

Based on the study titled "Photoionization time delays probe electronic correlations" by Lindroth et al., this research investigates the attosecond photoionization of the outer s subshell of argon. It explores the electronic correlations that affect photoemission time, addressing discrepancies between measurements and theoretical predictions. The research uses high-spectral-resolution attosecond interferometry and theoretical calculations to identify the essential electronic correlations that influence the photoionization process, providing unprecedented insights into the dynamics of the escaping electron and its atomic potential.
