To pass the Master in International Economics, students have to obtain 60 ECTS credits during three terms of the academic year. Students can choose between studying full-time (preferred) and part-time (between 24 and 36 ECTS credits).
The first term (Michaelmas term) consists of five compulsory courses that convey the knowledge and skills required for advanced theoretical and quantitative analysis, including the use of relevant statistical and econometric software packages (Stata, R, Matlab).
The second term (Lent term) consists of four compulsory courses and one out of two optional courses. The courses of this term focus directly on different aspects of international economics and finance.
During the third term (summer term), students must take one compulsory course and can choose two out of three optional courses, enabling them to specialize further. In addition, they may opt to do external internships in first-rate companies and public institutions or follow a course on research techniques. Finally, all students will write and submit a master thesis.
