Manuel Ramírez (MD, PhD) is the Director of the Unit for Cell & Gene Therapies at Hospital Universitario Niño Jesús in Madrid. He trained previously at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and then at the Experimental Hematology & Gene Therapy Lab at CIEMAT. His interests focus on translational research in pediatric cancers. His group has developed a new strategy for treating metastatic solid tumors with oncolytic adenoviruses delivered by autologous mesenchymal stem cells (ClinicalTrials Identifier: NCT01844661; EudraCT2008-000364-16).
