The official programme of the Postgraduate Degree in Condensed Matter Physics and Nanotechnology is an interuniversity programme offered jointly by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (coordinating University), the Universidad de Murcia and the Universidad de Oviedo. It includes a Master focused on research and a Doctorate.
The objective of the programme is to provide graduates in Physics or related disciplines with a coherent and modern education aimed at excellence in research on a wide range of fundamental, methodological and technological aspects in the area of Condensed Matter Physics, essentially in the study and understanding of the fundamental properties of solids and liquids, as well as in the area of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
Themes and Research Areas
The main areas covered by this official programme of Postgraduate Degree in Condensed Matter Physics and Nanotechnology, which include the themes for the End of Master Paper as well as for the possible Doctorate theses, are as follows:
Access Profile
In order to Access the period of training, it will be necessary to have an official University former system Degree or Graduate Degree in Physics (or related studies), with basic training in Quantum Physics, Statistical mechanics and Solid State Physics. In addition, students with University Degrees under a foreign educational system may Access the Master with no need for the approval of their Degrees on condition that they accredit a training level equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish University Degrees and this entitles the holders to access postgraduate studies in the countries issuing the Degrees.
Moreover, the students will be required to accredit a B1 level of knowledge of English or an equivalent level, which enables them to read, understand and write scientific books or texts in English, as well as being able to understand a seminar held in English.
In order to access the period of research, it will be necessary to have a University Master in Condensed Matter Physics and Nanotechnology, or another at the same level and in the same area of knowledge obtained at a Spanish University.
Students who hold a Degree from a foreign educational system can access the period of research with no need to have their Degrees approved, on condition that they accredit a training level equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish Master and this entitles the holders to access Doctorate studies in the countries issuing the Degrees.
