Seminar: "Systems Biology approaches to study stem cell differentiation"

Systems Biology approaches to study stem cell differentiation
Organized by
Condensed Matter Physics Department
Speaker
Professor David Míguez
Date
11-06-2021
Time
12:00
Place
Online event, MS-TEAMS, "Department Seminars"
Description

Systems Biology is at the core of many recent important breakthroughs in the study of  biological systems. In this talk, I will try to argue how the field of Systems Biology arises as a combination of Nonlinear Dynamics, the access to quantitative tools and a new  perspective in Molecular Biology that focuses on interactions rather than molecules themselves. In our lab, we work in Systems Biology approaches applied to Developmental Systems and the differentiation of stem cells during early neurogenesis. We will focus in a theoretical/computational/experimental approach to study the differentiation of several organs in the fruit fly.
