Resumen/Abstract
Multimodal Learning Experiences for Deliberate Practice (MLX) represent a transformative approach to learning, designed to integrate diverse modalities for enhanced skill development and knowledge retention. In this seminar, we will outline the vision of MLX, exploring its potential to reshape education and training practices. Participants will gain an understanding of the theoretical framework underlying MLX, with a focus on how deliberate practice principles are incorporated into multimodal strategies. The seminar will include demonstrations of MLX tools, explaining how in some cases they help with the exploration multimodal data, and in other cases how they analyse and process these data. The seminar will also provide an overview of research findings that highlight their effectiveness. Concluding with a forward-looking perspective, we will discuss opportunities for innovation and future directions in multimodal learning. Profesora proponente EPS: Ruth Cobos.
Curriculum ponente
Dr. Jan Schneider is a senior researcher and developer for EduCS at DIPF (Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education). In 2017, he received his Doctorate from the Open University of the Netherlands on the topic of “Sensor-Based Learning Support”. Jan has published over 90 peer-reviewed scientific publications in academic journals and conference proceedings. His research work has received multiple awards at international conferences (EC-TEL 2014, EC-TEL 2015, ICMI 2015, LAK 2019). Jan completed the MILKI-PSY project as project coordinator at the DIPF. Jan worked as the scientific coordinator in the recently completed IWWB-PLUS project. He has also been Demo and Poster Chair at the EC-TEL conference in 2019 and in 2021 he was Workshop Chair.
