Objetivos y competencias

Main objective:

This Master has as its main objective a profound study about the needs of people in vulnerable conditions. In the current social and economic context, the nursing discipline makes a commitment with the development of a greater competence to identify and to address the disproportionate burden of health and social inequalities in society, in order to contribute to the social transformation. The vulnerable people are specially exposed to these health and social disparities and to difficulties in accessing health services.

Knowledge and skills:

  • To analyse the theoretical models to approach the study of the phenomenon of vulnerability and social exclusion.
  • To analyse critically the scientific evidence available to provide nursing care to individuals, groups and/or vulnerable people, and in social exclusion.
  • To design interventions based on scientific evidence to care of individuals, groups and/or vulnerable people, and in social exclusion.
  • To incorporate the gender perspective, as well as the racial and ethnic perspective in the analysis of needed assistance of individuals, groups and/or vulnerable people, and in social exclusion.
  • To develop and to strengthen current research lines in the field of nursing care to study the individuals, groups and/or vulnerable people, and in social exclusion.
  • To analyse the strategies considered in the different levels of health planning, in order to provide with care to people with vulnerable conditions and in social exclusion, and to discuss proposals for improvement.
  • To analyse the chronic and dependency manifestations in the current society.
  • To identify the needed care of dependant people and people with chronic diseases and their caregivers.
