Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS)

The Internal Quality Assurance Committee (CGIC) of the Faculty of Economics participates in the planning and monitoring of the Internal Quality Assurance System of the Faculty's official Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degrees, ensuring compliance with quality assurance requirements and striving for continuous improvement of our studies.

This Commission acts as a vehicle for internal communication of the policy, objectives, plans, programmes, responsibilities and achievements of the Quality System. It was created by the Faculty Board on September 15, 2008 and modified on May 25, 2010 to ensure that all the bodies covered by the Internal Quality Assurance System were represented. Its composition and functions are defined in procedure P1-1 of the Manual of the Internal Quality Assurance System, approved in its latest version on 14 June 2018.

All the sectors involved in the continuous improvement of degrees are represented in the CGIC: students, teaching and research staff (PDI), teaching and research staff in training (PDIF), administration and services staff (PAS) and external members from whom opinions and advice may be requested whenever deemed necessary.

The CGIC, chaired by the Dean and with the Vice-Dean of Quality and Innovation as secretary, is composed of the Coordinators of the official Degrees of the centre, those responsible for quality designated by the departments, the representatives of the students for the degrees, representatives of the PDI and PDIF, and at least one representative of the Social Council of the University as an external member.  The Vice-Dean of Undergraduate Studies and the Vice-Dean of Postgraduate Studies also participate.
