Quality Assessment

UAM’s Doctoral School is firmly committed to promoting quality, ethics and social responsibility in all research activities related to doctoral programs.

The National Statement of Commitment to Scientific Integrity outlines the principles and ethical responsibilities that must guide research. The Statement was signed by Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Confederación de Sociedades Científicas de España (COSCE) and Conferencia de Rectores de las Universidades Españolas (CRUE).

National Statement of Commitment to Scientific Integrity

UAM has a Code of Good Practice in Research. All of our PhD students, supervisors and thesis directors adhere to it.

Internal Quality Assessment System

Universidad Autónoma de Madrid has implemented an Internal Quality Assessment System as part of its commitment to quality. This system allows the University to collect information on different aspects of its academic offer (Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees) and subsequently analyze it in order to identify objective criteria on which to base improvements.

Through the Quality Assessment System UAM’s Doctoral School ensures the quality of research conducted by students in their doctoral thesis, the training activities students complete during their studies, and its doctoral programs. The System is also used to establish internal operating procedures and processes oriented towards improvement.

In the case of doctoral studies, the Quality Assessment System pays particular attention to assessing the quality of research and the internationalization of doctoral programs (including information on the number of doctoral theses produced, quality indicators of publications and other resulting scientific contributions, research projects, agreements or international networks with foreign universities…)

Our quality management system is based on the quality guarantee guidelines established by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) for the European Higher Education Area.
