Ecology

The role of Ecology in our society is becoming highly relevant, both as a basic science that allows us to increase our knowledge about the structure and functioning of ecological systems, and also as an applied science intended to solve the most urgent environmental problems associated with the process of global change that is threating our planet. The growing demand of professionals in the environmental sector, which has been increasing at an annual rate of 14% in recent years, clearly demonstrates the need of postgraduate scholars in the area of Ecology. Public institutions, universities and environmental companies, currently demand ecologists with the capacity to investigate and innovate, in order to generate and/or adapt knowledge and specific applications in the environmental sector.
Our PhD program is designed to develop outstanding scholars and environmental professionals, qualified to conduct high level ecological research. The PhD program in Ecology is jointly organized by the Universities Autónoma and Complutense of Madrid, and has been certified by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA).
