Fitz de Castro Martins Quintela, Maurício

Maurício is currently working in the research areas of Nonlinear and Attosecond Optics, Excitonic Physics in Two-Dimensional Systems. Since April of 2024, he has had a researcher contract in the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid under the supervision of professor Antonio Picón Álvarez and professor Juan José Palácios Burgos with project title "Deformación del material y dinámica excitónica", "Materiales Disruptivos Bidimensionales", and "Materiales no centrosimétricos de baja dimensionalidad: teoría y experimentos". During this time, three articles were published, two in Physical Review Research (Q1), and the third in Physical Review B (Q1). Furthermore, a fourth article was published in Physical Review Letters (Q1) in this period as the result of work developed during his PhD. Additionally, he also presented a poster during the IFIMAC day at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid on the same work and given an oral presentation for IFIMAC members. He also attended the "1st TIMES Workshop joint with ETSF Real- ime collaboration-team meeting" at Queen's University in Belfast between the 6th-11th of April 2025. Additionally, he co-directed a TFM (Trabajo Fin de Master) project entitled "Time-resolved electron dynamics and optical response in an hBN monolayer" and participated in the supervision of a PhD student (Miguel Sá).

Currently, Maurício has 17 publications on google scholar, being first author of 14 of them. He also has an H-index of 6, with 24.8 average citations per year and 8.76 average citations per paper.
