Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC)

Resumen/Abstract

The talk will introduce ETSI TeraFlowSDN; an open, standards-based, and cloud-native SDN Controller that is specifically being designed and developed to cope with automation requirements imposed by 5G/6G and beyond. In that regard, the controller features not only network discovery and device configuration, but also telemetry collection, analytics, and automation capacities to enforce connectivity SLAs and prevent violations.

Curriculum ponente

Lluís Gifre Renom (Barcelona, 1984) is a Senior Researcher at the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC) specializing in cloud-native platforms for SDN/NFV, network slicing, and orchestration for 5G/6G and edge infrastructures. He obtained his BSc (2012) and PhD (2016) in Computer Science and Computer Architectures from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), with research on in-operation planning and optimization of flexgrid optical networks. His career includes academic experience as Assistant Professor at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, industrial research at Nokia Bell Labs on optical network control and monitoring (including a patent), and leadership roles in major European projects. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and currently chairs the Technical Steering Committee of the ETSI TeraFlowSDN Software Development Group, contributing to and coordinating the evolution of the open-source controller. Throughout his career, he has participated in multiple European and national projects (including roles as institutional PI), authored over 100 journal and conference publications and several book chapters, organized community events and software releases for TeraFlowSDN, and achieved an h-index of 17 with more than 1100 citations (Google Scholar).
