- Metastasis, the dissemination of cancer cells from a primary tumor to distant organs, remains the leading cause of cancer-related mortality. Although metabolic reprogramming is now recognized as a fundamental hallmark of cancer, its role in metastatic dissemination and organ-specific colonization remains poorly understood. My laboratory combines state-of-the-art mass spectrometry, in vivo CRISPR screening, single-cell RNA sequencing, and bioenergetic analyses in preclinical models of metastasis to uncover the metabolic adaptations that enable cancer cells to colonize distinct tissues and to identify novel therapeutic vulnerabilities.
