Mobility Programmes

International Relations Office

The Faculty of Science, through the Vice-Chancellor of International Relations, promotes student and staff mobility through national and international mobility programmes.

The students and teaching and research staff of our Faculty are eligible for various Mobility Programmes in which the UAM participates. The most established is the Socrates-Erasmus, known simply as Erasmus, an exchange programme between European universities. These exchanges are based on bilateral agreements that the Faculty of Science maintains with most major European universities. Selected students should complete an academic year or a semester in another university. These studies are recognised and then matched to credits for courses in their home university. Therefore in practice students complete one of the courses in their degree in another university. The entire process is managed through the International Relations Office as well as by the vice-chancellor of International Relations and is individually supervised by academic tutors (Coordinators). These International Relations Coordinators are named by representation of the various Departments of the Faculty.

The mobility programmes currently offered are:
In Spain: SICUE programme
In Europe: ERASMUS programme
Joint degrees between the UAM and European Universities (Chemistry and Mathematics)
In Latin America: CEAL-SCH Scholarship programmes
International agreements with universities in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Europe, Latin America, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand
