Study at one of Spain’s top universities, recognized for its academic quality and research excellence. Puente a la UAM is designed to support international students in preparing to meet the admission requirements of the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM).

Puente a la UAM prepares you to take your next academic step with confidence and a strong foundation while combines theoretical and practical classes, communicative workshops, and activities both on campus and around the city of Madrid, encouraging active learning. Students are guided by expert lecturers and supported throughout their adaptation process to the Spanish university system.

Bachelor’s Degree Foundation Program

This year-long program (7, September 2026 – 14, May 2027) combines intensive Spanish language instruction with preparatory courses that equip students to successfully complete the specific exams (PCEs) required for admission to Bachelor degree programs.

Once your Spanish level is assessed, you’ll be placed in a 14-hour-per-week intensive language course combined with PCE preparation courses. By the end of the program, you’ll reach a B2 level in Spanish and develop a deeper appreciation of Spanish culture and university life.

Study Smart, Live Smart: Adapting to Life and Learning in Spanish Universities (Workshop 1st semester)

Mathematics for Social Sciences — 1st semester

Spanish Language & Literature — 2nd semester

Business Model Design — 2nd semester

*While participation in the Puente Program helps students prepare for university studies, admission to a Bachelor’s program is subject to the university’s standard requirements.

Master’s Degree Foundation Program

This year-long program (7, September 2026 – 14, May 2027) combines intensive Spanish language instruction with advanced courses, ensuring a strong academic foundation for future graduate study.

Once your Spanish level is assessed, you’ll be placed in a 14-hour-per-week intensive language course. By the end of the program, you’ll reach a B2/C1 level in Spanish (recognized for admission by the Center for Graduate Studies at UAM).

  • Academic Preparation Courses

Study Smart, Live Smart: Adapting to Life and Learning in Spanish Universities (Workshop 1st semester)

Contemporary Cultural Debates in Spain — 1st semester

Advanced Academic Writing and Research Skills — 2nd semester

Colloquial and Formal Registers in Spanish: Understanding Language in Context — 2nd semester

Regular course in the field of your choice — 2nd semester (Optional for students with a high intermediate level of Spanish)

Students, admitted into the Puente a la UAM Program can apply for early conditional admission in a Master’s degree at UAM *While participation in the Puente Program helps students prepare for university studies, admission to a Master’s degree is subject to the university standard requirements.

Housing and board not included in tuition: the Study Abroad Office assists students with securing housing in student residences, shared apartments and/or host families.

Once you finish your studies, you can obtain an extra 2 years visa in Spain to look for a job or to start a business project. Please, note you will have to meet specific requirements to obtain the authorization.
