Tailor-made courses

 Study Abroad at UAM, in collaboration with universities all over the world, organizes tailor-made and faculty-led courses.  These can take place during the academic year or during the summer, and they can be taught entirely or partially by UAM professors in either English or Spanish.

Science Program UAM – Boston University

This program is offered during the Fall semester and allows Boston University students to enroll in science courses such as Organic Chemistry, Cellular Biology, Introduction to Scientific Research and/or Statistics and Probability at the UAM.  These courses are taught in English by UAM professors and are part of the regular courses for Science majors.  Students from both universities (UAM and BU) take these courses together, thus constituting a key piece in our internationalization at home effort.

George Washington University – Madrid UAM Program

The George Washington University Madrid Program is housed in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the UAM and offers George Washington University students with an intermediate or advanced level of Spanish an opportunity to perfect their Spanish skills while taking courses in History, Sociology, International Studies, Economics and other areas of study.  The program offers its own courses taught by UAM professors and encourages students to also take one or two regular UAM courses to interact with local students and have a true immersion experience

Enhanced Immersion Program – Hamilton College, Stanford University

Study Abroad at UAM also collaborates with US universities that have their own study abroad programs in Madrid, offering them the opportunity to send their students to the UAM for one or two regular courses.  These students enjoy a true immersion experience and meet local students in class as well as through our “Buddy-up” program.
