The role of acoustic and visual signaling in male-male social interaction of Neotropical anurans
Seminar content
Social interactions in anurans involve multiple signaling channels used for female attraction and male–male agonistic interactions. In this seminar, Guilherme will discuss visual and acoustic signaling in male–male interactions, focusing on research he has conducted in recent years.
The speaker
Dr. Guilherme Augusto-Alves received his PhD in Ecology from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Brazil) in 2023. Currently, he works as postdoctoral researcher affiliated with the Universidade Federal de São Paulo (Brazil) and a visiting postdoctoral researcher at Université Grenoble Alpes (France). His current research project investigates the secondary role of a reproductive call, in mediating male-male interactions
