Next public defenses at UAM
The Secretary of the examining board, on behalf of the President of the board, will fill in the ‘Thesis Form’ (download area) and will send it to EDUAM via email (doctorado.gestion@uam.es / doctorado.medicina@uam.es for doctoral students belonging to programmes on the fiel of Health Sciences), including the PhD candidate in CC, as well as the rest of the members of the board. This message will state the date, place and time for the defence. Also, if the thesis is defended in blended format (in person and online), it will indicate which members will participate by video conference. This email must be sent to EDUAM at least 8 working days before the defence date.
IMPORTANT. In order to facilitate the attendance and participation of the university community in the defence ceremony, it is an essential requirement that the date of the defence is announced sufficiently in advance on the EDUAM website. Failure to notify the reading date by the secretaly of the examining boar will mean that, in the absence of a public announcement, the thesis cannot be defended.
On a weekly basis (Fridays), and based on this information, the list of theses to be defended in the coming weeks/months will be updated.
NOTICE: Doctoral thesis defenses cannot be held, because these are days without teaching activity at UAM, on:
- January 22nd, 23rd and 26th, 2026
- From March 30th to April 6th, 2026
- May 1st, 2nd and 15th, 2026
- August, 2026
- From December 21st 2026 to January 7th 2027
- January 22nd, 25th and 29th, 2027
- From March 22nd to 29th, 2027
- August, 2027
- Those established in the academic and/or work calendar, 2027
